Ayurveda 101

You will learn about the ancient history of Ayurveda and it's unique relationship to Yoga. We will view both Yoga and Ayurveda holistically, integrating various practices to support asana, pranayama, meditation, and lifestyle. Where Yoga is considered to be a science of realizing the self, Ayurveda is the science of self-healing, designed to relieve imbalances in body and mind. When Yoga and Ayurveda work together as a team, we are able to achieve self-healing in deeper, more integrated ways.

This workshop is designed to increase personal awareness in order to build a strong tool kit for leading yoga classes or your personal practice. You will learn how to soothe imbalances in the body, mind, heart, and spirit and how those imbalances present in the three Doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. You will be able to find balance for yourself and others during times of transition, seasonal changes, or life's daily rhythms. Come ready to explore a holistic and embodied set of practices, based on asana, pranayama, meditation, and the subtle body. Additionally, we will study the Ayurvedic clock, balancing Ayurvedic lifestyle principles and techniques, and their relationship to the Gunas and Prana, Tejas, and Ojas.
